Concert halls are being built again all over Europe. And they are more beautiful and more inviting than ever before. These new buildings are an indication of optimism about prospects for cultural audiences. On the other hand, we are aware that we have to attract these audiences, and music education plays a central role in dialogues with them. The symposium »The Art of Music Education«, which is being held for the third time, has in the meantime become a significant international platform for exchanging ideas about the best models for these dialogues.

Yehudi Menuhin once said: »Music speaks for itself as long as we give it a chance«. But what chances do music and musical tradition have on the European continent? This is a question that many musicians and music educators are currently asking themselves. We believe in alliances in which as many partners as possible bring in their particular strengths in representing musical concerns in a strongly networked, rapidly changing world and we look forward to fruitful discussions and ideas.
